The Tate Britain
The Tate Britain is an art gallery situated on Millbank in London, and part of the Tate gallery network in Britain, with Tate Modern, Tate Liverpool and Tate St Ives. It is the oldest gallery in the network, opening in 1897. It houses a substantial collection of the works of J.M.W. Turner. When i first visited The Tate Britain i could immediately tell the difference between it and The Tate Modern. It is full of historical paintings, I couldn't believe the scale of some of them, then I looked closer at the information and it explained that some of the paintings took over 80 years to create which i think is astonishing as it was created by the same artist the whole way through.
